Thank you SO much for this site and the upkeep! I used to stop off at my grandma's house on the way home from school when I was in high school. On days when the weather was gorgeous, grandma would have her windows open for the cross breeze and fresh air. I knew it was a good weather day before I even got around the corner to her street. When it was a good weather day, grandma had those windows open and she was listening to vinyls on her Zenith console. I was an odd duck, having a grandma I considered my best friend as a freshman in high school but...we had the same taste in a LOT of things. Bad weather days of too hot or too cold (northern Minnesota) everything was shut up and we'd chat while we watched a Doris Day marathon or...John Wayne movies. I miss that so much. She passed away the year before I got married, 2004, and I found that her console was what I missed about sharing with her the MOST. I'm 37 and I've been looking for a console for a while, but all I typically run into people asking very little simply because they have no used for it, don't know the value, and they want it out of their house fast. Then...there are people pricing them like they're selling you a brick of gold. When I look through the photos there is a ton of cosmetic damage, sometimes the fabric over the speakers is torn or ripped, and they can't tell me if ANY of it WORKS. Lol But, they "looked on Ebay and these radios sell for hundreds and thousands of dollars". I bet they work though. A couple times when I went to look at a console it was pretty obvious why they framed their shots so tight. Lol the turntable doesn't turn, the radio can't pick up stations, there are WIRES exposed, and the coup de grace.....they don't know if BOTH speakers work or not. I predict this takes me another year at least. I love these consoles! Thank you for sharing!
